Abstract

This study examines how affective and cultural-political elements are redefined through VR in Oneroom-Babel. Virtual Reality (VR) offers immersive experiences that transcend the limitations of traditional screen-based media like film. The VR film Oneroom-Babel, directed by Sanghee, reconstructs the space of a oneroom apartment, a symbol of economic vulnerability in Korean society. Through this, the film provides an affective experience while delivering a powerful cultural-political message. Using the medium of VR, this study explores critical social issues faced by the younger generation, such as housing instability, social isolation, and economic inequality, from the perspectives of affective and cultural-political implications..
