AI^ ver.6.0 :
Neuromancer’s Dream
The 26th Advanced Imaging International Festival (AIIF 2025), co-hosted by the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film, the BK21 FOUR Educational Research Institute for AI-Contents Future Industry, and the Smart Image Content Research Center, will be held online from November 5 to 8, 2025.
Celebrating its 26th edition, AIIF 2025 presents “AI^ver.6.0: Neuromancer’s Dream”as this year’s theme, exploring new perceptual terrains shaped by the intersections of AI, art, and society. Inspired by William Gibson’s seminal sci-fi novel Neuromancer(1984), the theme envisions how technology expands human perception, memory, and reality, offering new dimensions of artistic imagination.
Hosted on an online platform, AIIF 2025 serves as a global forum for academic and artistic exchange, where participants from around the world share research, ideas, and creative practices. This year’s festival features three main chapters — Exhibition, Conference, and Film—which collectively expand artistic inquiry into the realms of perception, reality, and memory in the age of artificial intelligence.
Exhibition — Horizons of Synesthesia Horizons of Synesthesia is an exhibition that explores the fusion of art and technology, expanding the boundaries of human perception. The Art & Technology section showcases innovative works by graduate students —including media art, interactive installations, and AI-based video projects — while the International Showcase presents selected works by international artists chosen through an open call. Through sensory engagement and interaction, these works invite audiences to experience the transformation and reconfiguration of human perception.
Conference — Palimpsest of Reality Palimpsest of Reality is an international academic program under the theme “Rethinking Layered Realities of AI, Art & Society.”The International AIIF Conference brings together experts from countries including the United States, Japan, India, and Australia to discuss the multilayered realities at the intersection of artificial intelligence, art, and society. The Pre-Conference features presentations by graduate students and researchers, who explore diverse topics such as AI-based creativity, media theory, and technology criticism, further deepening and expanding artistic reflection in the age of AI.
Film — Echoes of Memories Echoes of Memories is a film preview program showcasing short films created by graduate students. These works reinterpret memory and emotion through cinematic language, revealing the sensibilities of a new generation of creators. Their poetic narratives, reimagined through the lens of youth, reach audiences worldwide through online screenings.
