Can not touch

Work

"Can not touch" is an interactive mixed-material projection work generated under the combined effect of human touch and machine vision. The material blocks that cannot be confirmed by humans in the dark are recognized by AI, and these materials are then generated by AI to associate traditional Chinese ink painting of Jiangnan. This work allows participants to connect human tactile perception by touching the surface textures of different materials, and then combine machine vision to identify the material and generate a piece of traditional Chinese Jiangnan ink painting imagined in the AI"mind" through the keywords of the material. Finally, it is projected on the surface of this material, making people feel like they are in the beautiful scenery of Jiangnan in China, which is intertwined with virtual and reality depicted by AI. This work attempts to draw people's attention to AI tactile perception. When AI gradually replaces human visual and auditory sensory recognition, what will happen to tactile perception? Or maybe, humans are just artificial intelligences of artificial intelligence.
