Son Tae-gyum was born in Seoul in 1986. He graduated from Chung-Ang University's Department of Film and Korean Academy of Film Arts(KAFA). He won the third prize in the Cinefoundation category at the 64th Cannes Film Festival for his graduation work, -Fly by Night-. After that he made short films such as -In the Summer- and -Incomplete Life: Prequel- and directed independent feature film -Baby Beside Me- which was released in 2017.
