The short film <Sleepy> adapts Anton Chekhov’s story to mid-20th century Korea. It follows an individual who, deprived of the basic human need for sleep due to social and personal circumstances, gradually descends into madness. Through this, the film raises a philosophical question of how marginalized individuals, past and present, can be driven into becoming monsters.
