JinWan Park

Project Director

I am Jinwan Park, the Project Director of the BK21 FOUR Educational Research Institute for AI-Contents Future Industry at the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film.

First, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone involved in organizing this event. Since its beginnings as a campus-based media festival, the Advanced Imaging International Festival has grown steadily, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year thanks to your passion and dedication.
We have consistently worked to enhance the quality of new artistic research and creations combined with AI technology, aiming to elevate the international stature of the festival.

Under the theme “AI^2 ver. 5.0: Advanced Imaging & Artificial Intelligence,” this year’s festival will feature exhibition, conference, and film screening, offering a unique opportunity to experience diverse advanced imaging content.
To further establish this event as an “international festival,” we have curated exhibition and conference with students and professionals from around the world in the fields of media art, animation, film, and imaging science. Together, we aim to deepen the understanding of the fusion between art and technology.

We hope this hybrid event, hosted both online and offline, will provide a meaningful opportunity to explore the convergence and advancement of visual art and engineering. Your interest and active participation will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Changjae Lee

Dean, Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film, Chung-Ang University

I am Changjae Lee, Dean of the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film at Chung-Ang University. This year marks the 25th anniversary of our school—a significant milestone in our history. Since its selection in the first phase of the BK21 program, our school opened its doors and established itself as the only educational unit within Chung-Ang University to be awarded BK21 funding four times over the past 25 years.

In addition, two years ago, our program successfully secured a 4 billion KRW government grant for an OTT Content Specialization Graduate Program, and in the first half of this year, we were awarded a 5.5 billion KRW grant for a Metaverse Graduate School initiative. We have also been recognized as the top academic unit for three consecutive years, demonstrating our commitment to excellence. It is truly momentous to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Advanced Imaging International Festival alongside these achievements.

Looking forward, we aim to elevate the festival to an international level, collaborating with our Metaverse program to establish pioneering events like an AI Film Festival and a Metaverse Film Festival. Through these efforts, we will strive to fulfill the ambitious goal of uniting engineering and the arts, establishing ourselves not only as Korea’s but also Asia’s leading advanced imaging festival and educational institution.

Thank you.

Jeong-hyen Kim

Professor

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 2024 AIIF, we are here to showcase the research achievements and works of Chung-Ang University Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film. This event will go beyond simple exhibitions and become a venue to break the boundaries of knowledge and creativity through exchanges with students from Universities in China.

At this place where the three pillars of artificial intelligence, video technology, and art meet, we want to explore the infinite possibilities that the convergence of human imagination and technology will create. Various international conferences where domestic and foreign experts gather to find a way forward together will be a beacon to light up our future.

Through this opportunity, we will go beyond simple technological advances to explore human nature and the depth of art, and form a philosophical discourse of a new era. Technology is not just a tool, but a new language that expresses the human mind and emotions. The encounter between artificial intelligence and art presents us with a new way of being and enables new forms of creative thinking beyond the boundaries of humans and machines.

Here, we will reflect deeply on how technology and art can expand human experiences and redefine our existence. Your participation and passion will make this event shine even more.

Thank you.
